The above passage is a quote from Psalms 40:7 "Then said I, Lo, I come; in the volume of the book it is written of me,(8) I delight to do Your will, O my God; yes, Your law is within my heart."
Have we considered that this book that Christ spoke of might be the same one that Moses referred to: Exodus 32:32 "Yet now, if You will forgive their sin - and if not, blot me, I pray You out of YOUR BOOK WHICH YOU HAVE WRITTEN! Do you think Moses meant the Bible? I don't think so - there wasn't one yet, I don't believe.
The Book
Daniel 12:1 "...But at that time your people shall be delivered, every one whose name shall be found wriitten in the book of God's plan for His own. (from the Amplified)
also:
Phillipians 4:3 "...as Clement and the rest of my fellow workers whose names are in the Book of Life."
Could this be the Book that is not written with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God? Not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts? If it is, wouldn't you like to find the page with your name and assignment and read what was there and fulfill your divine destiny that was written from the heart of God for you?
If, in the beginning the Word was with God and God was the Word and not anything was made that was made except through this Word, do you think we were in that Word in the beginning? In Him as His Words to be spoken forth? "As the Father has sent me, so send I you." We are each his words, sent words, that will not return void, but will prosper in the thing for which we are sent.
Do you think it possible that the Book of Life contains the "Words" of Life?....LIVING WORDS, you and me? In the same way that each of us is a book of life, making up the Book of Life, we are each the leaves on the Tree of Life making up the Tree of Life. (leaves for the healing of the nations, those nations within our own kingdom, and then to the uttermost parts of the world)
According to the encyclopedia, the ideal gestation of a human baby takes two hundred eighty days. Two hundred eighty is the product of seven times forty (280=7x40). In the Bible, the number seven represents "spiritual perfection", just as there are seven days in the week, and seven colors in the rainbow. The number forty represents "probation", a period of time devoted to growth and testing.
Allegorically these numbers indicate that spiritual gestation is composed of seven periods of probation (7x40=280). Each of these probations is a period of testing that requires an interval of time. Completing these seven intervals of growth will complete your gestation on earth and bring forth a begotten spirit with you.
These seven steps for the gestation of a begotten sprit are verified in the Bible. They are the seven testings that shine as the gateway to immortality. He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. To complete these seven periods of growth is the only purpose for your earthly life. The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. As seven washings, they remove the crust of carnality while your spirit is made new in regeneration. Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. by Garrison Russell
Genesis says the lights in the heavens were for signs and to mark seasons. So we are these times of the Lord, making up the Day of the Lord. We are marking seasons. We are His Day. We are the Light that is dawning in this Day of the Lord. Did He not tell us that we are the Light of the World. Whatever He is We are! What a blessed people we are to become an equal heir with Christ.
I think maybe the book that Moses said God Himself had written is where Christ found his destiny and wherein lies ours.
