Dry Land

Genesis 1 says that God says "and let the "dry land" appear". This was the beginning of the lowering of man. This is the "evening man".
The "morning man" is our first estate as a spirit creation.

It takes an evening and morning man experience to make One Day, The Day of the Lord.

Then in Genesis 2 it  says that man is made of the "dry land", the dust, the dust man.  This is when man became a living soul....he lived by the impulses of his mind or ego more than the guidance of his spirit.

In the OT the Spirit or the water came "upon" man.
But
In the NT Jesus said "out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water, this spake he of the spirit, for the Holy Ghost had not yet been given."

Jesus came to open the floodgates making us a well watered garden flooding us from within with resurrection reality so we we would not be a dry unproductive land.
