The Glorification of the Son

Just what does the glorification of the Son mean for us? Well, first we need to take a look at what it meant for Jesus.

John 17:1
“And when Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour is come. Glorify and exalt and honor and magnify Your Son, so that Your Son may glorify and extol and honor and magnify You.

The glorification of the Son, is what makes it possible to glorify or magnify the Father. It is what makes it possible to bring heaven into earth, because your heavens speaks of the Father, the invisible realm, and your earth speaks of the Son, the manifested realm. It is what makes it possible to give the invisible attributes of the Father a place to birth themselves. God who is Love is able to be lov-ing, joy is able to be joy-ful, peace is able to be peace-ful, longsuffering, kindness, gentleness, meekness, wisdom etc.

“Just as You have granted Him power and authority over all flesh (all human kind) now glorify Him, so that He (the Son) may give eternal life to all whom You have given Him”.

The glorification of the Son is what makes the Son a ‘quickening spirit’ or a ‘life giving spirit’ with the ability to merge into and with the spirits of all those who have been given to him imparting “eternal life”. But, that word “eternal” life is not correctly translated, because the word ‘eternity’ is found only once in the original scriptures. It is referring to God Himself “who dwelleth in Eternity.” (Isa. 57:15)

That word ‘eternal’ in the above passage is really the word “eonian”, or eonian life, which the Son imparts. Our glorification does not mean that we are going to be unclothed spirits, disembodied spirits, because it is the ‘Son’s’ glorification that manifests or unveils the glory of the Father.

“You are what is seen of Him who is invisible
You crystallize the One who has no form
You localize the One who is everywhere
And you’re the One creation’s longing for.”
Song by Rokus den Hartog

Eonian, is an adjective describing the noun, ‘eon’, qualifying, limiting, or magnifying it. The eons were made by and for Christ:

Hebrews 1:2 [But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ‘ages of time’ – [that is] He made, produced, built, operated and arranged them in order.

Eons speak of a time element, but through a concordant study of the word “eonian”, we find it also contains within it an element of quality. Christ is giving not only length or duration of life, but he is giving his own quality of life or glory to those who believe into Him. This quality of life will be necessary to bring forth the kingdom of God in the unfolding ages/eons before us.
