If Jesus is indeed our Pattern and served as the prototype of the completed composite New Creation Man, then we, too, will be fulfilling the law... the spirit of the law, if Jesus is the pattern and prototype by which we are fashioned. Once an inventor gets his prototype finished just as he intends it, he can begin to mass produce his product by the pattern.
Jesus fulfilled it in the letter by becoming the actual, literal sacrifice, and also by becoming the scapegoat, driven by the Spirit into the wilderness for 40 days. Those 40 days are symbolic of our (the churches')past 40 Jubilee period, Jubilees which were proclaimed in the Law every 49th year and observed in the 50th. They were complete sabbath rests for the people and the land. [this speaks of spirit, soul and body salvation...our bodies are the promised land....we are to have renewed minds AND bodies]
Israel wandered in the wilderness a year for every day that they had spied out the promised land, the promised land that they could not by faith be persuaded to rise up and take. We all know that was 40 years. It only took a day to get them out of Egypt, but it took 40 years to get Egypt out of them.
Jesus, also patterned the scapegoat [the scapegoat is the "Living Sacrifice", the one not killed] when he was driven into the wilderness for 40 days....each of those days represented a Jubliee cycle.
40x50= 2000years
So, the church was driven into her wilderness (by the hand of a "fit man" the OT describes it and Jesus fulfills it by saying he was driven into the wilderness by the Spirit) and she has very much been involved in learning to keep the spirit [not letter] of this law these past 2000 years. She has been learning to overcome the devil (ego or carnal mind) as Jesus did in his wilderness experience and finding her Sabbath Rest in Him.
So, I see us fulfilling everything that Jesus did in the Law of Moses, the prophets and the Psalms as he taught the disciples in Luke 24 :44. He immediately went on to say after that statement:
"Thus it is written, that the Christ, should suffer and on the third day rise from (among) the dead."
If we are included as his Body in that third day rising at this time, then we are also included in the fulfillment of the rest of that passage, as I see it. But please know I am speaking of the spirit fulfillment, not the letter.
There were two goats, one killed as a sacrifice, the other one lived.
There are two appearings of the Lord...one as Jesus the singular Christ who was literally crucified
&
His Body the second, the one that has presented itself a living sacrifice.....we die (to self) while walking around on two feet. (that's why we have "blessed" feet.)
So, I think we all are saying the same thing ....according to how we each refract the light.
Love and blessings to all,
Karen
